The Antares 511AZ is a Newtonian Reflector Telescope with an aperture of 4.5 inches and a focal length of 500 mm. This product is provided on an Azimuth-Elevation Mount which is manually operated. It has two large knobs, which allow you to loosen or secure the axes. In so doing, you can move the telescope in the Azimuth direction (or left/right), as well as the Elevation direction (or up/down).

Description

This 511AZ Newtonian Reflector Telescope from Antares is mounted on a clever U-Channel component which is made high enough to allow for movement of the Newtonian telescope over a wide range of Elevation angles including pointing it to the Zenith. It will be easy to point this telescope to many of your favorite celestial objects, especially when using the included red dot finder to help you locate the objects.

This 511AZ Newtonian/Azimuth-Elevation telescope from Antares is on an aluminum adjustable tripod with an accessory tray included. It also comes with a 14 mm eyepiece, a 3x Barlow lens, Moon Filter and a red dot finder.

Just an addendum. Barlow is very good. Ep and Barlow alone is worth the money. Can't say enough about this fantastic starter scope! If u r a beginner or astronomy student, this is the one to get. Not a "sexy" scope, (if u allow). u won't find a better for under $500 never mind $ 200. Grab one while u can. Gso is way better than celestron or other Chinese outsourced scopes. U can never souce their optics. Guaranteed gso (they learned from 60s /70s Japanese optics, I compared to royal astro and Toma (I'm fairly sure).

Excellent starter or grab and go!

Amazing scope for the money. Basically a dob on a tripod. Easy to use, very smooth control on alt but u need to keep a feel on the tension. Az nut needs tightening, otherwise very smooth. Unprecedented 80' eyepiece (home lab tested to 84' on f3.8 guidescope, 79.95' on antares 511). Have great expectations for the Barlow. No competitors comes close to price, and you have guaranteed gso optics. Its a no brained.
