Returns

We offer a 30 day return policy. 

You may return your purchase within 30 days of receipt (pickup date or date the courier delivered) for a refund or exchange less a 20% re-stocking fee. Product must be unopened and in the same condition as it was shipped.

In cases where a paid order is cancelled before it ships, no restocking fee is charged, but credit card processing fees are deducted from the refund. No fees are deducted on exchanges or store credit. 

Any product that has been opened, unsealed, used, or otherwise modified from it's original packaging cannot be returned for refund. 

Defective product or warranty claims, please see below.

The following are considered returns:

  • Requesting to send a product back within 30 days of receiving it.
    • The 'Receipt Date' is either the day it was picked up in person or the day that the courier reports it was delivered.
  • Cancellation of an order after payment (in-part or in-full) has been processed; even if it has not yet shipped.
  • Deposits made on cancelled special-orders are considered forfeited and will not be refunded.
  • Uncollected shipments or shipments automatically returned to All-Star Telescope.
    • Shipments that are automatically returned to All-Star Telescope will incur additional refund fees equal to the 'cost of refusing shipment' or 'double the initial shipment cost' which ever is more.
  • Refused shipments by the customer.
    • Refused shipments will incur additional refund costs equal to the 'cost of refusing shipment' or 'double the initial shipment cost' which ever is more
  • Pickup Orders not collected within 15 days of pickup notification without prior notification from the customer.

Cancellation While Product is Being Shipped

While your order is in transit it cannot be modified or cancelled. Returns can be requested after receipt of product.

Return Procedure

  1. Once the product has been delivered or picked up, the customer must contact All-Star Telescope to request a return. See our Contact Page.
  2. If approved, the customer must arrange for shipment (at their expense) back to All-Star Telescope at the address supplied by a valid All-Star Telescope representative. The customer must ensure the item is insured and well packed so that it arrives in new unused condition.
  3. After it arrives at All-Star Telescope, the product will be inspected to ensure it is in new, sealed condition and all items and packaging are included. Inspection of returns will take 5-15 business days after receipt of product.
  4. If product return is approved, a refund (less any fees like shipping or restocking) will be assessed and credited to the customer.
  5. If product return is rejected, All-Star Telescope will arrange to have product returned to the customer at the customers cost.

Return Conditions

  • We require that any product being returned MUST be unopened, sealed, and new condition.
  • When shipping back to All-Star Telescope the product MUST be fully insured and All-Star Telescope be consulted prior to the return. Shipping charges on all returns, whether for refund, replacement or warranty work must be paid by the customer.
  • Charges arising from the return, such as customs, taxes or surcharges, will be the sole responsibility of the customer and will be deducted from any refund assessed to the customer.
  • All-Star Telescope will not be responsible for lost shipments or for damages in shipping from the customer. Insurance claims will be the responsibility of the customer.

Exceptions to the the Return policy:

The following products are exceptions to this policy and are non-returnable unless there is a manufacturer's defect in which case the product will be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer:

  • Optical Accessories: Eyepieces, barlows, powermates, diagonals, focal reducers, eclipse glasses and filters
  • Binoculars and Spotting Scopes
  • Imagers such as NexImage, Skyris and Autoguiders
  • Software
  • Special Ordered Items - products that are not usually kept in stock

Open Box Items

Open box items are considered final sale and are not eligible for return. Warranty on open box items are still standard manufacturers warranty. 

Discounts

If we lower our price before delivery or pick up for items ordered online, we will match the new price at that time. See our price match policy for orders that have been delivered. Any returns made will be subject to the return policy above.

Warranty or Defects

All-Star Telescope wants you to be able to use and enjoy the equipment you purchased from us. All-Star Telescope is required to follow manufacturer policies and procedures for Warranty claims. The final decision for all Warranty claims rests with the manufacturer and not All-Star Telescope.

Warranty Procedure

If an item is deemed to be defective on arrival or is deemed to have failed within the first 30 days of ownership (based on the shipment date of the order), All Star Telescope will replace the unit (if stock is available) and send a return shipping label for the defective unit. The product must be deemed dead on arrival by an All-Star Telescope employee after troubleshooting with the customer and the manufacturer.

Items that are deemed to have failed after the first 30 days of ownership (based on the shipment date of the order) All-Star Telescope will supply contact information for the manufacturer. The Customer is responsible for working with the manufacturer to resolve any issues and ship product back and forth. All-Star telescope will not ship products to manufacturers or provide shipping labels for the sake of shipping to manufacturers.
