Description du produit
The SQA130 represents the next evolution of Askar’s acclaimed SQA series, delivering a larger 130 mm aperture and a refined optical design that pushes clarity and contrast to new heights. Engineered for astrophotographers, this revolutionary lens combines the classical Petzval design with modern optical advancements, delivering unparalleled clarity and breathtaking detail in capturing the wonders of the night sky. With improved mechanics, smoother focusing, and enhanced imaging performance, the SQA130 sets a new standard for versatile, high-precision refractors—proving that Askar’s commitment to innovation is stronger than ever.
SQA130 Features
- Exceptional Star Performance: Quintuplet air-spaced lens design, including 2 pieces of SD glass. The SQA130 supports medium format imaging. The central star point has an RMS radius of less than 2 µm, and the star point at 55 mm is less than 2.4 µm, showing a super-fine star point. It also has excellent full-field illumination and MTF data, The relative illumination can be higher than 95% at 44 mm, and can be higher than 85% at 55mm.
- Integrated Tube Ring: Lightweight dual tube ring design with a hollowed-out center for reduced weight. Enlarged thumb screws allow users to open and close the tube ring without additional tools. Six M4 and M6 threaded holes on both sides allow flexible mounting of various bases—even supporting an additional telescope for imaging. The handle is slotted with a multifunctional finder base compatible with a wide range of astronomical accessories.
- 360° Rotator: The rear of the focuser is equipped with a 360° high-precision rotator with a precision scale to allow the user to adjust and save the angle of rotation. It is also equipped with an enlarged locking screw for easy locking even under high loads.
- Large, Rigid, Dual-Speed Focuser: Dual-speed rack-and-pinion large 3.2-inch rigid focuser, which can be compatible with most motorized focusers on the market. The focusing travel is 30mm, and the focuser tube is engraved with high-precision scales. The entire focuser barrel is CNC machined with an anti-reflective internal design and matting paint, providing extra measures to eliminate stray light.
Other SQA130 Features
- Petzval Structure: Integrated self-flatfield optical system eliminates the need for a flattener and simplifies back focus requirements. Between 46mm and 76mm connection distance, users can directly use it for shooting after the OTA is in focus.
- Retractable Dew Sheild: The dew shield is a retractable design that can be pulled out. It protects the lens from the impact Of external and internal light and protects the front lens from collision.
- Dovetail Plate: An included 300mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate for smooth, secure, and easy mounting.
- Dual Finder Bases: Both sides of the focuser are equipped with finder bases, enabling flexible mountingwithout repeated removal. Also suitable for mounting other astronomical accessories.
- Rear-End Adapters: The end of the SQA130 includes an M68-M54-M48 step-adapter for secure and easy connection to various imaging devices, such as full-frame cameras.
- Multi-Platform Compatibility: Compatible with professional astronomy cameras. Also works with mirrorless and DSLR cameras via appropriate adapters.
- High-Quality Machining: The entire SQA130 tube is crafted using high-quality CNC machining with anodized and surface spray paint treatments. Exclusive nameplates are embedded on the handle and focuser refined

Optical Path
The SQA130 is a quintuplet air-spaced lens design, including 2 pieces of SD glass.

MTF Chart
The modulation transfer function (MTF) is a quantitative description of the clarity of the image (including resolution and contrast) of an optical lens. The vertical axis is the MTF value, and the horizontal axis is the distance from the center of the frame to the edge.
In the two sets of curves corresponding to low and high frequencies, even at the edge of 55mm image circle. The sagittal lines and sagittal lines distance of the SQA130 lens remain very small, and at the low frequency of 10LP/mm, it is higher than 0.9 overall, showing the high resolution and sharpness of the SQA130.

Relative Illumination:
Relative Illumination (RI) represents the combined effect of light loss and attenuation at the corners of the lens, and the RI curve illustrates the change in illuminance (%) across the imaging range on the sensor. Illumination variations can adversely affect the image. The vertical axis represents different percentages of example illumination intensities, and the horizontal axis represents the distance from the center of the frame to the edge.
The SQA130 achieves a relative illuminance of over 95% at the edge of a 44mm image circle and over 85% at the edge of a 55mm image circle. This demonstrates successful control of vignetting and field curvature in its optical design, enabling it to deliver high-quality images with uniform brightness from the center to the edges for large sensors.

Spot Diagram
The imaging quality of the optical system can be evaluated by analyzing the distribution of the spots on the spot diagram. The SQA130 demonstrates an exceptionally perfect star image performance, with a central star spot RMS radius of less than 2 microns, and less than 2.4 microns at the edge of the 55mm image circle, reflecting its outstanding aberration correction capabilities.
