Description du produit

Telrad Reflex Sight Finder with Mounting Base (1001)

Must have

The telrad is one of those must have's when doing visual astronomy. The 3 rings in the reflex sight provide almost instant locating og the target. AA batteries keep it going for years, even when you leave the led on for a few days at a time. The sight transfers easily to another scope with an extra baseplate. I had one, but recently acquired another scope which was missing the telrad but had a base already installed. Sometimes I look through a couple scopes in a night... I didn't think twice about getting a second to always have one available for the 15" dob.

Telrad Reflex Sight Finder with Mounting Base

Quick shipping, great addition to my 8” Dob…….very easy to sight versus a typical spotting scope…..I paired the Telrad with the 4” inch riser base for ease of viewing.

Telrad, pretty standard bit of kit

I bought a well used and long in storage 16” Meade Skybridge that needed a bit of TLC. It came without any eyepieces and just the base of a Telrad. Allstar have an impressive selection of items stock, are semi-local and have a great website so I chose to pick up a selection of Baader eyepieces and a new Telrad. Unfortunately I am still rebuilding the scope and have yet to use it however unboxing came with no surprises as the design of the Telrad has decades of history. It’s a bit oversized and clunky but a proven design and well ingrained in stargazing lore. I have bead blasted and powder coated the telescope’s trusses and tube end rings matte black, cleaned the primary and replaced the secondary mirrors and rebuilt the base. I also picked up a shroud and end cap. With the ability to accurately aim this thing I am hopeful for first light between xmas and new year as some of these items are actually gifts to myself under the tree LOL.
