As expected, it’s a quality aluminum bracket. I purchased it to attach a ZWO EAF to a Celestron 6SE fully aware that I needed to modify it so it would work. Modifications completed and the EAF is up and running.
This bracket fits perfectly on the 9.25
Edge HD telescope for the electronic focuser. All-Star Telescope is a great place to buy all this equipment and the service is great.
Purchased this bracket to install a new ZWO EAF on my old deforked CPC C9.25 XLT scope. Fit was perfect, install was a breeze, made easier with the many online tutorials. I did end up adding a couple washers to each ****, but it wasn't needed. Everything was well made, and included everything I needed. All-Star was incredible to deal with, and everything was well packaged.
The only thing that that I dislike is that ZWO sells the bracket as a stand alone. If they sold the EAF with the proper bracket based on model, they’d likely sell a lot more instead of having to buy the base package and then buy the optional bracket.
This is a great little bracket, but it doesn't come with instructions.
There are a few important things to do that weren't immediately obvious to me and I got wrong on the first install. I found that a YouTube video was a big help: Astroblender's - "ZWO EAF Installation for Standard Celestron SCT and RASA 8 Focusers". Do watch this to be sure your physical install works properly.
In terms of software install, the YouTube video from Realtra Photography - "Celestron EdgeHD Backfocus with ZWO OAG and ASI cameras + Bonus ASIAir Pro EAF settings" was really helpful. It is for an ASI Air Pro but the points later in the video on EAF settings will apply to whichever autofocus software you use.
