Great Addition to the AM5

I bought this so I could attach my AM5 to a custom wooden tripod I built, the purpose was to get above the roof overhang on my balcony. When I use the AM5 for visual it also helps bring the telescope up to almost eye level. In both cases it works like a charm!

Great enhancement to the AM5+Tripod

Installation is easy despite the typically scant ZWO instructions: the spreader **** goes into the PE200 and locks it in place. The AM5 goes on top of the PE200 and is secured with 3 locking screws.
Your AM% now sits 200mm higher than before which makes observing a tad easier and reduces the risks of your ASIAir, guiding gear crashing into the tripod.
The PS200 is well built: well designed and sturdy.

Love it!….

This extension positions the Alt-Az adjustment **** a little bit higher for me when I Polar Align the scope and AM5 mount….easier on my back. Does not add very much more weight to the setup, or decrease portability. Also gives you the clearance that you may need if you are worried about your OTA running into the tripod legs during operation

PE200 Pier Extension

Needed this extension to move my Sharpstar 94 refractor away from legs. As usual very quick shipping from All-Star. Unit is very well made and hook up was very easy and stable with the TC40 and AM5. I have not tried it with my Edge 9.25 but it may be to tall, but the TC40 and AM5 have no problem handling the Edge 9.25. Also the service as usual was excellent from All-Star

A great option for fitting the AM5 to a heavier duty tripod

The PE200 has adapters to fit to attach this half-pier to heavier duty tripods for those who think the ZWO carbon fibre tripod may not be sturdy enough. It would mate well with the iOptron Lite-Rock for the CEM40. Perhaps with the Skywatcher 1.75” tripod with a 3/8-16 bolt/ spreader, if you can find one. I made it work with an EQ6 tripod by purchasing a long 3/8-16 bolt and putting the SW adapter puck inside the pier, instead of attached to the bottom. I’m using it with a 200mm f/4 Newtonian (Vixen R200ss).
