This is an Ideal scope to start out in astro photography My grandkids and friends are amazed at the photos generated so far. I still have a hard time believing the quality of shots obtained by this small scope. I purchased for portability and convenience of setup, Tripod, AST head and Seestar are around 10 lbs total. You will not be disappointed with this little guy....
This was purchased as a companion to allow the Seestar S50 to be used in equatorial mode. While advertised as a wedge It is in reality more a Tripod head commonly used in photography, this does not hinder it's use. I have this unit setup on a standard tripod and alignment is done in a few minutes and I am very pleased with the results provided.
While I don't need the counter weight bar with my current setup on the AM5N I can now plan for the moment I get aperture fever and want to get a larger telescope like a Newtonian, or defork my Meade 8" and mount it on the AM5N. Thanks for everything...
This stone is quite varied in its colors and patterns, once polished it's amazing to look at. However, I took off a star because I think the picture of the polished stones is a bit misrepresentative: you likely won't get all white pieces, in fact they seem to be somewhat rare whithin the rock. I still liked it enough to order a second batch hehe ;-)
Very happy with the products offered and the customer service. I will go back to All-Star for my rock tumbling and astronomy needs.
Prompt shipping. On time arrival. Tumbler (Lortone 33B) has been tumbling away for 5 days and is quieter than expected.
Great service and great product.
After ordering the ZWO CAA, I discovered that I needed this flanged 2mm adapter ring to achieve proper back focus. Product was shipped and delivered quickly.
The Sky-Watcher AZ5 Mount is a handy, easy-to-use setup that allows for fast and convenient observing. Since this is an altitude/azimuth mount, polar alignment is not necessary. All you'll have to do is make subtle adjustments to altitude and azimuth **** to keep your target centred in the eyepiece. The adjustments using the **** are smooth enough to easily track an object.
If you enjoy star hopping to find your target, this is the mount for you. German Equatorial mounts can be a little confusing to know which adjustments you need to make to centre on your target. With this AZ5 Mount all you need to do is go up or down or side to side. Fun and easy!
The quality of the mount is excellent, providing the performance you would expect from a Sky-Watcher product and at the price point. Unlike "junk mounts," the performance is worth the price. Smooth adjustments in your altitude and azimuth are very satisfying.
The AZ5 head is very interchangeable with other Sky-Watcher tripods like the Star Adventure tripod. This allows for a lighter setup if you are using a smaller telescope on the mount head. For example, the AZ5 mount head, with the Star Adventure tripod, and the Evolux 62ED is a fabulous set up for grab and go moments. This is a very fast and easy set up when your eyes and heart are longing for a deep sky session.
The AZ5 Mount is also a fantastic mount for lunar photography and short duration wide aperture astrophotography. Set your ISO high on your camera and you are able to achieve sharp looking stars with a 1 to 2 second photograph. The adjustment **** make this an ideal kit that out-performs a standard camera tripod setup.
In addition, the AZ5 Mount is a very useful tool when aligning finder scopes, Telrads, and red dot finders to the main optical tube.
The AZ5 Mount is an outstanding additon to your observing experience.
I’ve already had this rough in my tumbler for a week and I’m loving what I see so far. The chunks were nice and large (but not too large!) and they should tumble into beautiful shiny specimens.
Just received this from All-Star Telescope in Edmonton. It came quickly, in good order, and I must say it's a superior quality product. I used it that very night to good effect. Highly recommended.
Finding good quality rough rocks for my tumbling hobby has always been hard, but I think I’ve found a diamond in the rough :)
I’m super happy with the rocks that I’ve ordered, and can’t wait to get them through the tumbling process to see the final results. They are going to be great!
This filter works great for reducing the brightness of the moon and is really convenient because it's adjustable
Excellent quality and decent price, solid to hold my maxbrigh binoviewer with two stocky 68 degree eyepieces. It reduces light path by about 50mm
I received nice big chunks of this very cool rock :-) It's great raw, and I saw the first stage results after tumbling, it looks promising! I'm glad I tried this one :-)
Love it. With the carbon tripod this is **** of an upgrade over my SA gti! Its tracking below 0.5 most of the time and ive seen some 0.3. the PA nobs for left and right arent the best and don't forget to tighten the lock nuts after the PA to stuffen the mount on the tripod. I really love it.
Tried my new Askar 71F.
Very impressed with the quality without using a field flattener. Great for wide view!!
Instructions for installing the Askar reducer o.75 is a bit confusing at which way does it goes. Didn’t have too much time for imaging so I didn’t use it yet.
Very good price for what you get, I highly recommend it.
Used this to double stack behind my quark and it now means i have a 102mm double stacked h-alpha scope for less than $2000. It just doesn’t get better than that except for the scope still works for calcium and white light in seconds. Shipping was very fast.
I purchased the wrong cable for my equipment. And it’s not worth the dollars to return it.
Check carefully the sizes of the connectors before you buy.
And I figured out another solution in the meantime.
