An excellent diagonal - highly functional and very useful for visual!

I have had this diagonal for about 2 months now, and have used it almost every time I have gone out - scopes used were a 105mm APO triplet (SV/TMB105) and Skywatcher 120 (ST120 w/modifications).

In both uses for visual, sharp, contrasty images resulted. Both low and high power (up to 240X) views on the moon and Saturn have been very highly detailed under average to above average seeing.

IMO, this is an excellent diagonal and a good mid-pricing alternative to many other diagonals out there. The unit has the facility to collimate it if needed for more precise, specialized uses, but my unit came bang on collimation. I have also recently used it as low as -18C one evening and it did very well.

Two Caveats: One, the 1.25" diagonal adapter is very stiff in cooler weather, requiring more torque than during fall or spring type conditions. Two, the three upper adapter EP screws on the 2" side are a bit overkill, but do center the adapter very well for general use. Depth is slightly shallower than some diagonals, so watch this if using extended barrel 1.25" EPs. It does have a good 2" stop to prevent any issues with the main mirror being hit.

Very impressive for a sub-$300CDN diagonal. Thanks! CS all...
