Solar Filters and Solar Glasses

Solar filters cover the front of any telescope to let you look at the sun. They allow you to see and image sun spots, and transits across our star.  We carry 100% safe filters from Celestron, Kendrick Astro, Baader Planetarium, and Thousand Oaks. For even more detailed views including prominences and flares, check out our dedicated h-alpha solar telescopes here.

The majority of our solar filters are made with either Thousand Oaks, or Baader solar filter film.  This material is super durable, you don't have to worry about it. Wrinkles, folds, kinks, pinholes and other imperfections are normal and will be present on any solar filter. These do not affect the image quality or safety of the filter. In fact, most experienced solar observers say that "wrinkles" improves image contrast.

Most of our solar filters show clear dimensions of the filter aperture and the outer diameter.  If you need help picking the right size solar filter for your telescope or binoculars don't hesitate to contact us.
