Triple Apod - July 25, 2024: Omega Nebula by Doug Zeeman

Today's image is of the Omega Nebula, sometimes called the Swan Nebula, or by its Messier catalogue number M17. It's actually considered to be one of the brightest, most massive star forming regions in our galaxy, and is believed to have a similar shape to the Orion Nebula region, except the Omega Nebula is viewed edge on and is much farther away.

The Celestron Origin is unique among smart telescopes because it uses a Rowe-Ackerman Schmidt optical design, giving a very fast F/2.2 ratio. With roughly the same degree of magnification as other smart telescopes, the Origin uses a 6-inch (150mm) diameter scope, while other smart telescopes can only use optics with 1/10th the light collection area, sometimes less. This makes for much faster image acquisition time, and much cleaner images with fainter details visible.
