Best Binoculars - Under $2000

At this price point you’re going to find the best brands in the business. Swarovski, Leica, and Zeiss all have excellent product offerings here. You'll also find top offerings from legends like Kowa and Pentax.

You get all the features you’d expect from a top-shelf binocular here, they’re built for a lifetime of extraordinary views.

First of all, they’re waterproof and nitrogen purged. This keeps your binoculars safe if you get caught out in the rain or if something is accidentally spilled on them. It also helps to keep humidity out of the binocular so they resist fogging or developing any mold inside the optics.

The main optics are coated to reduce glare and eliminate strange reflections between optical elements in the binoculars. This helps to make sure your view is good in any light conditions from bright sunlight to night time observing. You also get phase coating on internal prisms to improve color fidelity.

These binoculars use exotic ED glass to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration (CA). CA is a hot button topic on any internet forum dedicated to astronomy or birding. In short, it's a little bit of color fringing at high contrast points in your view. These binoculars have eliminated that in all but the most extreme cases.

Think of these as alpha binoculars that have made some very subtle compromises to bring the price way down. Nobody should be disappointed with the view through any of these binos.
