Refractors, sometimes called refracting telescopes, use glass lenses or elements to gather and focus light. Refracting telescopes come in two large varieties - achromatic or apochromatic (APO). The difference boils down to clarity and false color. APO refractors are premium products without false colour. Refractors come in varieties that are great for visual observation, and astrophotography.
