Ultima 100

While the Regal is currently out of my price range, the Ultima has been a welcomed piece of gear into my optic collection.

The feel of the scope and handling feels very natural; the only thing I don't really like is the adaptability with other tripods. I currently am using a Manfrotto tripod that I use with my DSLR, and it doesn't support the weight of the scope the best. I have ordered an Ultima tripod as it fits within the weight limits and is tailored to this line of scopes. Other than that, no issues!

The scope is very clear while panning in and out is very smooth. Tripod height adjustments with the angled eyepiece make viewing for extended periods very easy. For a scope that costs under $1000, the light filtration and optics are very bright and clear. Other people have complained about chromatic aberration but I have not had that issue at all - even closer to 66 times magnification.

If you are interested in the Regal, I would give this scope a try first. It will give you a very similar feel for handling and functionality before making a bigger financial commitment. I have been very happy with my Ultima and get very excited to head out with it on the trails and coastlines!
