The William Optics Fluorostar 156 APO OTA is a high quality Apochromatic Imaging and visual use OTA with an aperture of 156 mm and a focal length of 1217 mm or an f-ratio of f/7.8. This Fluorostar 156 APO OTA can also be used with an interchangable camera mounting system, with various T-mounts for cameras (not included).
The William Optics FLT 156 Triplet Fluorostar OTA utilizes a steel objective cell for its 156 mm lens. This steel cell has proven to be less subject to pinching the objective due to changes in ambient temperature when compared with a large aluminum cell. This means your FLT-FPL-53 and Lanthanum objective will remain unconstrained and in good alignment during sudden changes of temperature, to continue to provide the APO performance you expect. This Fluorostar 156 APO OTA from William Optics is provided in Blue color accents with a white tube.
If you wish to take great astro-images with a high quality APO refractor, this William Optics Fluorostar 156 APO OTA is a great way to achieve your imaging goals. Its FPL-53 glass air-spaced Triplet lens design provides images with extreme sharpness, clear details, with APO grade color correction.
Includes a Mounting Base dovetail (Losmandy type), either a 3.7" Rack & Pinion Focuser or 3.5" Feather Touch w/ 3" RotoLock Focuser, three clamshell type Mounting Rings for the OTA, and the new innovative Bahtinov Mask cover. The newly designed three-piece ring and Losmandy base system provides better support for your large refractor OTA with no chance for flexure of the tube, and it provides a great handle and built-in base for other Vixen-base accessories.
This Fluorostar 156 APO OTA from William Optics comes standard with a dust cover that has a built-in, clear Bahtinov Mask for perfect focusing every time. Simply remove the flat front cover plate, leaving the dust cover cuff in place on the OTA. Point the OTA at a bright star, and focus carefully. When the bright central diffraction spike looks exactly centered between the other two spikes forming an "X", then your OTA is in exact focus for stars. Remove the dust cover cuff carefully from the objective end of the OTA, and you are ready to image.

Note: William Optics uses high quality steel lens cells and FPL53 glass for WO triplet series (GT and FLT) - this combination is perfect for temperature compensation and will prevent pinched optics in cold weather conditions.
Before you store the telescope you have to uncover it and let the tube to stay open for some time. After the telescope dry up, moisture will evaporate and it can be safely stored. You must to store your telescope in a dry place with a constant room tem perature.
Otherwise lens cell will rust and lens coating will be damaged by fungus.
