Product Description

The EvoGuide 50DX Apo Guide Scope Astrograph takes Sky-Watcher's doublet design and packages it in a lightweight guide scope. These doublet refractors deliver dramatic, coal-black skies and faithful, contrast-rich views of planetary and deep-space phenomenon that are second to none.

Mounting to your guide camera is a breeze with convenient M42 rings on the back of the scope, and a beefy single-speed focus ring helps you nail focus. Although initially designed for guide cameras, the EvoGuide 50DX APO Guide Scope Astrograph can be used to shoot fast, low focal length astrophotography when used in conjunction with a focal reducer (not included), producing stunning wide-field images.

Great guide scope

The EvoGuide 50DX APO is a great guide scope. It's easy to setup and focus with a good mini camera, such as the ASI220MM. The only complaint is the lens cap that is a bit too loose and easily falls off. To correct this, I put a strip of masking tape on the inside rim of the lens cap to create a snug fit on the scope.

Evo guide scope 50mm

I have purchased the original Evo guide scope , which does not come with dovetail bar or the mounting rings, for the purpose to use it as advertised "a guide scope" . It is a great guide scope that compliments Esprit 150 scope. Being a doublet , the optics are very good. The focusing is easy to use, however when used for the first time it seemed rough. I removed the focuser , cleaned the threads, which had some burr from manufacturer, I have then applied some light white grease to first 3 threads only and threaded it back in to the tube. Now it operates very smoothly. The scope is well boxed from manufacturer. As always the it was received from All-Star telescope on time , with great support and well packaged .There are many cheaper guide scopes on the market , but for its flexibility of usage it is well worth the investment.
