Triple APOD - March 7, 2025: Andromeda Galaxy (M31) By Peter Boytang

From Peter:

M31 has always been my favourite target and it was my dream to capture an awesome image of it. It’s big and bright but teasing out the fine details has always eluded me. After several attempts I think I finally succeeded at the 2023 Saskatchewan Summer Star Party. It was shot over 3 nights prior to the start of the star party (Aug 13th, 14th, and 15th) and totals 160 3 minute Subs (so about 8 hours). If you zoom right in Hubble variable V1 is clearly visible.

Bortle 2-3 skies at the 2023 SSSP.

Captured over 3 nights using NINA running on a Remote Desktop controlled MELE Q3 mini PC.
PHD2 Guiding with a SVBony 60mm guide scope and ZWO MM120 mini camera.

Stacked and processed in Pixinsight and tweaked in Photoshop.
