Triple APOD - November 3, 2025: The Sailboat Cluster (NGC 225) By Kirby Price
From Kirby:
NGC225 is a circumpolar open cluster in Cassiopeia located about 200 light years from Earth.
A bit over 26 hours of total integration (315 - 300 second sub-exposures taken between Aug 25 and Sept 5 2025) was needed
for this image taken from Bortle 7/8 skies in Sherwood Park Alberta. This was the first imaging done with this telescope.
Equipment:
Skywatcher Quattro 200P Imaging Newtonian modified with a dual speed rack & pinion focuser (with ZWO EAF), a primary mirror mask,
a Nexus 0.75 coma corrector / focal reducer and a secondary mirror dew heater.
A ZWO 533MC Pro camera with a gain of 100 and -20C cooling, and a Optolong L-Enhance filter, sub-exposure time of 300 seconds was used.
Mount was the iOptron HAE29 with a counterweight.
William Optics 50mm UniGuide scope with ASI 120mm Mini used for guiding.
Control done with ASIAIR Plus.
Image processed with Pixinsight and Adobe Lightroom.
